Federico Fellini’s “8 ½”

Not only a masterpiece, but a reference point in the history of cinema and a victory lap of reflection about the cinema media that culminates with the unforgettable dance of reconciliation.

Guido Anselmi, a director who is going through a critical period in his personal and artistic life, is tormented by fantasies and obsessions related to his catholic formation, his notion of sex and his relationships with women, and the search for meaning in his work.

Images from the film that he is shooting are confused with nightmares, but all this confusion of reality and fantasy ends in a happy farandole, where everything makes sense.

The film was awarded the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film and the Oscar for Best Costume Design (for a black and white film). Recognized as an avant-garde film and as a highly acclaimed classic, it was among the top 10 on the British Film Institute's (BFI) list of the 50 Best Films of All Time, ranking third in a 2002 BFI directors poll. It is also in the collection of the 45 best Vatican films made before 1995, the 100th anniversary of cinema. Today it is considered one of the best films of all time.
